Michelle Sadeghy brings specialized experience with energy tax credits and deductions

Kaufman Rossin, the largest independent CPA and advisory firm in Florida and one of the top 100 firms in the U.S., announced today the expansion of its Credits & Incentives practice within the Tax Services Advisory Group. The addition of manager Michelle Sadeghy brings specialized experience with energy tax credits and incentives.

Kaufman Rossin’s Credits & Incentives team helps businesses take advantage of many tax credits and incentives that are available through the state and federal government, including the federal research credit (also known as the R&D tax credit) and cost segregation studies. This latest expansion enables the firm to better serve clients who are making energy-efficient or green improvements to new or existing buildings.

As a mechanical engineer with a background in energy efficiency in commercial buildings, Sadeghy helps real estate developers, designers, and other clients qualify for energy credits and incentives, including the 179D Energy Efficient Commercial Building Deduction and the 45L Energy Efficient Home Credit.

She brings over a decade of experience as a project manager and energy modeler for design and construction teams. She has worked on over 40 Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) projects and provided energy design consulting on over 300 projects through one of the nation’s leading utility providers.

Sadeghy earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering and a minor in Leadership Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. She is a Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE) in Florida and California and a National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Verifier. She is a graduate from the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Leadership Institute and is an active member of ULI.
